Roger Federer celebrated his long-awaited comeback after more than a year out of action. 

And by beating Dan Evans 7-6 3-6 7-5 in the Qatar Open tennis tournament.

The 39-year-old has not played in any official matches for 405 days.

He underwent two knee surgeries last year.

But he appeared brilliantly, beating Britain’s No. 1 seed.

The match, which was held at the Khalifa Tennis Complex, was attended by fans who were keen on social distancing well.

Evans pushed his 20 major championship opponent to give his best.

Federer appeared in great physical condition and excelled in the deciding set before clinching the victory in the 12th game.

By backhand along the side line of the court at his second point to win the match.

Federer is considered one of the best tennis players in history.

He won 20 Grand Slam championships.

And more than 100 championships throughout its history.

And the record holder at the top of the classification with 305 weeks.

Federer wants to compete again for the championships.

And he relies a lot on his great experience in tennis.

But age may constitute a barrier because it exceeded 39 years.
