Manchester excludes Milan

Manchester United eliminated the Italian club AC Milan, and qualified for the quarter-finals of the European League, after their 1-0 victory over them, in the second leg of the 16th round, at their San Siro stadium.

The Frenchman, returning from injury, Paul Pogba scored the match goal in the 49th minute.

The Red Devils qualified for the quarter-finals, after taking the lead (2-1) in the aggregate, as the Old Trafford match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Manchester United started the match with possession of the ball, and a great pressure in the middle of Milan’s stadium, but without danger.

While the Italian club retreated and relied on closing spaces and tight defense.

Portuguese Bruno got the ball after a superb pass from left-back Luke Chau in the 12th minute.

But the latter fired a powerful shot that went over the goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Ivorian Frank Casey responded with a powerful shot in the 15th minute from a distance, which Man United goalkeeper Henderson managed to tackle brilliantly.

Despite the need for United to score at least one goal, the team is beginning to slide back.

AC Milan left its areas to attack Manchester United, amid the strange retreat of the Red Devils.

To end the first half with a goalless draw.

With the start of the second half, Solskjaer brought on Paul Pogba.

His coach’s confidence was not disappointed, as he scored the first goal three minutes later.

After wrong passes from the Milan players, the ball reached Pogba, and he deposited it brilliantly on the goal.

AC Milan winger Salimaekers almost leveled quickly for Milan after being hit by United’s defense.

    To start from the left flank, and hit a powerful ground ball, Henderson removed his goal strongly.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic returned to participate with the Italian club after his absence for a period due to injury.

And he participated as a substitute for the Spaniard Castenjo in the 65th minute.

Ibra would have been tied for Milan had it not been for Henderson’s brilliance.

 Zlatan raised his head over Luke Shaw, but the keeper was on the lookout for him.

He did not find anything new on the level of the result, and the match ended with the victory of the Red Devils.

 And qualify for the quarter-finals, to be held on Friday.
