US Olympic coach Jason Chris said his country was disappointed after the team failed to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.


After losing 1-2 to Honduras, last night.


And by his defeat in the semi-finals of the qualifying tournament at the level of the Confederation of North and Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF).


The US national team will miss the Olympic Games for the third time in a row.


It is the last appearance of the US team in the 2008 Beijing Games.


Juan Carlos Obregon and Luis Palma scored the goals of the Honduras national team, with one goal in each half.


While the captain of the US national team Jackson Yoel scored his country’s only goal.


“I am very disappointed … the atmosphere in our team’s dressing room is like a disaster,” coach Chris said after the match.


“I think everyone wanted a lot to qualify,” he added, “I think that may have been the reason for our failure. We did not provide the required level to achieve the goal.”


Honduras will meet Mexico in the final of the continental tournament on Tuesday.


After ensuring that the two teams qualify for the games that will start in Tokyo on July 23.
