Former world number one Andy Murray expressed his disappointment after Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic withdrew from the Cincinnati Masters.
It is the first time the trio has not participated in the Tournament and Cincinnati tournaments in two decades.
Novak preferred not to participate, to prepare well for the American Championship.
While Nadal and Federer withdrew due to injury.
Murray said:”It’s sad that Nadal and Federer are not in the US Open, but I totally understand how they feel,”.
“It’s a different scene, almost throughout my career, these guys have been in tournaments”.
But things are starting to change, bodies break down at this age.
” He continued, “Their lack of participation in tournaments gives a great opportunity for other players to win titles.
I hope that each of them becomes physically fit and ready for tournaments soon.”
He continued: “My future depends on how my body feels, it was a good feeling before Wimbledon:
“And in preparation for the Olympics, but then things slowed down again.”
“I hope to feel good here in Cincinnati, I can’t say I’m sure I will feel good in the next months or weeks.”
Murray is considered one of the most competitive players for Nadal, Federer and Djokovic.
